REVIEW: Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette

If it isn't already obvious based on the title and the photo above.. yep! I got the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette. I actually received it as a Christmas gift from my boyfriend and couldn't be more excited. I'll be honest and say that when I first heard about the Naked 3, I was a little skeptical about it. However, like most things.. it started to grow on me. Anyway, here are my pro/cons:

PROS:
- It's got a different color palette altogether in comparison to the Naked and Naked 2 as it's got a more rose golden tone to it. With Naked and Naked 2, I feel you can get away with just one of them, however because Naked 3 is a more pink-toned palette, there's enough variation between them if you decide to want to get it
- Like all Urban Decay shadows, the pigmentation is great - very creamy and blendable
- It has 3 matte shades that are perfect for brow bone highlight and transitional colours
- Has a great range of light and dark shades that make the palette versatile for day and night looks
- Comes with a deluxe sample pack of all of Urban Decay's eyeshadow primers
- Packaging is travel friendly
- All shades are new

CONS:
- You can never really get away from those glittery shades with the chunky glittery fall out
- The pink tones may not be everyone's cup of tea
- Price might be a little bit of a turn off for some

Overall, I feel it's a matter of preference when it comes to this. Yes I feel it's different enough from the previous Naked Palettes to purchase if you please, however if you're not into the rose gold/pink tones this may not be for you.  I've been using it a lot since receiving it.. surprisingly more so than my Naked 2 Palette (which in all honesty.. I don't like as much as the original Naked Palette, or even the Naked 3). But again, it's ultimately up to you..

REVIEW: NARS Light Reflecting Loose Setting Powder

I picked up the Nars Light Reflecting Loose Setting Powder during Sephora's 20% off Friends and Family Sale a few weeks ago and have been using it since. Here are my thoughts on it.

Pros:
- Doesn't look cakey
- Gives a satin finish
- Blurs imperfections
- Prolongs lasting power of foundation
- A little goes a long way (it'll last forever!)

Cons:
- Price $$$
- Messiness from loose powder
- Oil control could be better (however I naturally have an overly oily nose so it could just be me..)

Overall, apart from the messiness of using a loose powder, I've been enjoying it thus far. It hasn't broken me out and I love the finish it gives. I'm just glad I got 20% off it because like all other NARS products, it's quite pricey ($39.00 CDN), however considering you don't need to use a lot, I think you're getting your money's worth of product (10g/0.35oz).

Current Fave Style Icon | ZENDAYA

I'm not going to lie, I've been slightly obsessed with Zendaya's style lately. It's dope. That pretty much sums it up. Whether it be sneakers or sky high heels, she looks amazing and her dressing style is very representative of her personality. It's fresh, urban with a splash of class. I've grown to love Zendaya after watching her on Dancing With The Stars [Season 16] and was gutted that she didn't win! Not only does she have an awesome wardrobe, she's also very talented, well grounded and carries herself with such poise for a 17 year old in show business. Her self-titled album has been on "replay" [get it?.. cause her debut single is called "Replay"..] on my iPhone for a the past few weeks and I love it! She's definitely got a bright future ahead of her and I can't wait to see how far she goes to reach her dreams.

P.S. Follow her on Instagram [@zendayamaree]! She posts a lot of her outfits on there too! I'm a little obsessed...

Small LUSH Skin Care Haul!

I picked up a few.. well two, skin care products from LUSH a few days ago as I'm trying to beef up my skin care routine and focus more on bettering my skin. I picked up Breath of Fresh Air Toner because I'd been meaning to restock on it for a while and I love using it during the cold winter months for more moisture. Then I also decided to try the Ultrabland cream/oil cleanser out of curiosity. It's a little strange using it because I'm a little skeptical about putting oil on my face, however so far so good! It really removes my makeup and breaks up mascara really well. I do still follow up with another cleanser just to make sure everything is gone but I haven't had any problems with it thus far. I'll probably do an in-depth review after I've used it for a longer period of time but I thought I'd write this quick post and share my recent purchases with you guys!

Review: Maybelline Volum'Express the "Colossal Cat Eyes" Mascara

I've always been a fan of most Maybelline mascaras, especially once they've "aged" a little. For those of you who've used Maybelline mascaras, you know what I'm talking about. For those that don't know, Maybelline is known to have really wet formulations for their mascaras, and while some may like that, I'm not a big fan because I find that when the formula is on the wetter side I get clumps easier. Anyway, before I veer any further off topic, I figured share my thoughts on the Colossal Cat Eyes mascara, which I'll say right now.. I've already repurchased.
I purchased mine at Wal-Mart for about $7 in the regular formula, shade - "Glam Black". Maybelline claims this product will give you "colossal feline-like lashes in one stroke". It has a "claw brush" (which is technically just a curved brush.. keeping in the feline theme I guess) with a collagen infused formula. My lashes are relatively average length and while they're not super thick, they're not relatively sparse either.
Like all other Maybelline mascaras, I find that this one performs a lot better once it's gotten a little older because I can build more volume and encounter less clumping when the formula's a little drier. I really like that the wand isn't plastic and the curved brush helps maintain my curl while still allowing me to layer numerous coats (not that I actually layer more than 3 coats anyway..). I can only imagine how well the waterproof version would hold a curl in place even more! I can also separate my lashes fairly well with this brush considering I was never a pro at using a curved brush.

The formula is nice once it's dried out a bit because it gives the lashes volume and lengthens them just enough that if I were to just wear mascara, I'd be content. I also appreciate how it doesn't flake or smudge because I think I can vouch for just about every girl and say that flaking and smudging are big "No No's". I wouldn't say it necessarily lives up to it's claims of "colossal feline-like lashes in one stroke", however it's a great everyday mascara and I've personally been enjoying it. Hence the fact that I've already repurchased it.

So you know my thoughts on this product, what are yours? Have you tried it? Did you love it/hate it? Leave a comment down below on your thoughts and if there are other, possibly better mascaras I should try. Hope everyone's doing well!

Captain Phillips & Cold Weather

Sweater - Thrifted/Value Village
Jacket - H&M
Jeans - Bluenotes [SIMILAR]
Brklyn Tuque - La Notte/Aritzia [HERE]
Ankle Boots - Spring [HERE]
Watch - Fossil
Wristlet - Michael Kors [HERE]

My boyfriend and I went to go see "Captain Phillips", starring Tom Hanks, and I'd just like to take this time to say that... that was a really, REALLY good movie! Tom Hank's performance was great and I was on the edge of my seat, holding my breath and trying to fight back tears. If you're a fan of films based off true stories, at sea hijackings and Navy SEALS, I highly recommend watching this one! Can I also mention that I now want the iPhone 5s even more just because of the better camera quality... Sounds dumb I know but my boyfriend used his phone to take my photos today and the quality is so much better than my trusty iPhone 4s, and it would further feed my avid and embarrassing Instagram obsession. Too bad I can't upgrade till next year and I'm not about to shell out $600 or so to buy it without contract (first world problems?!..). On another note, it's definitely starting to get colder... time to break out the parkas and mittens.

P.S. I'm in desperate need of a hair cut...

Happy Christening Baby Girl!

Dress - H&M// Moto Vest - Aeropostale// Triangle Necklace - Trejjr// Watch - Fossil// Bracelet - Pandora

Today I attended my boyfriend's cousin's Christening (well.. more like the reception that followed but you know what I mean!) and had lots and lots of food that I couldn't bare to leave the spot I was sitting in, in for fear of an unnecessary explosion.. (Not really I'm obviously exaggerating - I did eat a lot though). Apart from that, the company was good, the baby girl was ADORABLE (although she slept for the most part) and the day ended with a trip to Mucho Burrito!

How was your Sunday?

Yesterday I possibly failed my Community Psychology test, ate so much food and almost slept through rainy traffic. Fat protruding belly aside, I had a great day, so I'm not complaining
